Early praise for new album: Rolling Stone and bloggities.

Posted on

Our album comes out next Tuesday, March 29th…and we want you to pick it up. And so does Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Timeout Chicago, My Old Kentucky Blog, and Awaiting the Flood (who is giving away two signed copies of the record.)

If you aren’t scared that we’ll find you without a copy of the new album, perhaps these reviews will spur you on.

Rolling Stone: 3 1/2 stars…by Chuck Eddy. Excerpt: Tennesee Ladies juice garage
punk with twang and bravado

“…shitfaced garage punk…The road leaves them wasted and bummed, money slips away, they go insane on a plane and opt for food over sex, “BeYour Bro” battles a buddy’s lustful urges; “Mystic Mind
rattles it’s acid washed chains like the 13th Floor Elevators; Boy tallies groupie
dudes at assorted tour stops a la guy bands ever since time began. Everybody
takes turns singing lead. And beneath all the rudimentary clank and buzz,
there’s plenty of rockabilly quiver, drawl and twang.”

The New Yorker: “garage-rock meat grinder.” Link

TimeOut Chicago: 4 out of 5 stars: Those Darlins are the redneck Ramones, singing of mental health, greasy food, boredom and the opposite sex. By Brent DiCrescenzo

Awaiting The Flood: Those Darlins – “Screws Get Loose” Signed CD Giveaway
“Set to drop March 29, Those Darlins‘ highly anticipated sophomore release, Screws Get Loose (Oh Wow Dang), finds the band stronger, louder and with a tougher edge than on their 2009 self-titled debut. This time out the guitars are fuzzier and more distorted, the rhythm section more gymnastic, and the attitude less naïve.”

“…a sexy, spirited record full of the ornery, retro-pop rock we’ve come to anticipate from this Tennessee quartet.” LINK for MORE
