NEW limited edition 7″ featuring cover of Rockpile’s “Pet You And Hold You”: Listen Now/Order Now

We are gearing up for the release of a new limited edition 7″ on March 27 to coincide with our first European tour and US dates to follow. We hit the UK next week where our sophomore album Screws Get Loose has been winning much praise from critics around its recent release, but will be back on the road in the US with Best Coast in July.

The 7″ features our Miss Cleo jam “Mystic Mind” (from Screws Get Loose) and their brand new cover of Rockpile’s “Pet You And Hold You” with Nikki Darlin on vocals. We love Rockpile and especially Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds’ abilities to write pop gems. “‘Pet You And Hold You’ is a sexy song and we wanted to get up on it.

“Pet You And Hold You” is our first song to be released with Scott Litt (REM, Patti Smith, Nirvana) on production duties. We’ll be recording an EP with him this April.

Those Darlins cover title track for Repo Man Soundtrack Tribute

If you have ever seen Nikki or Linwood’s VHS collections, you know that their copies of Repo Man are well worn. Hell, we are pretty sure that Nikki’s not driving might have something to do with Miller’s philosophizing.

So, it is very cool that we can now announce that Those Darlins have recorded a cover of the Iggy Pop title track for an upcoming tribute album on American Laundromat Records.

Friends,

As a group, and individually, we are thankful for you, our fans and supporters, for your unwavering support over the years.

With sadness, we must announce that Kelley Anderson has decided to leave “Those Darlins” in order to pursue other musical projects and professional ventures. We will miss Kelley but will follow her with excitement at her new website: KelleyAnderson.org. Kelley promises to keep us updated on the Tenth Anniversary of The Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp in Murfreesboro this summer. It was Kelley’s hard work and dedication to the Southern Girls Rock And Roll Camp that brought us together in the first place.

Those Darlins will continue to move forward with a lot of exciting news in 2012. We will be recording an EP in May with producer Scott Litt (REM, Nirvana, Patti Smith) to be released this year and will resume touring in March.

We’ve got a lot of new music to share with you and promise to bring you the best recordings and live shows of our careers. We sincerely thank you for the continual love and support you’ve shown.
